Subsurface¶
Light through thin cloth, leaves and paper; soft glow in wax, rubber and translucent plastic. MM_KurinAsset, Foliage (on by default), group Subsurface.
1. Pick the Shading Model¶
In the instance: Material Property Overrides → tick Shading Model → pick one. Without it (Default Lit) Subsurface does nothing and costs nothing.

| Wax, candles, rubber, translucent plastic, marble | Subsurface |
| Solid opaque plastic | none: Roughness and Base Color are enough |

Tips¶
- Check it with the light behind the mesh; viewport Buffer Visualization → Shading Model shows that the override works.
