World Aligned¶
Maps projected in world space from 3 sides (top + 2 sides): no UV stretching, seamless across rocks, cliffs and big modular pieces. MM_KurinAsset, group 00 Settings.
| Parameter / switch | What it does | Typical value |
|---|---|---|
| Use World Aligned? | World mapping on. Needs Use Virtual Textures? off | rocks, cliffs, modular walls |
| World Aligned Size | One texture repeat in cm (Tiling still multiplies it) | 200 = one texture per 2 m |
| World Aligned Blend | Sharpness of the transition between sides | 4; soft 1, almost hard 16 |
| World Aligned Lock To Mesh? | The projection follows the mesh: move, rotate or scale it and the texture stays put on the surface | on for props, Blueprints, physics |
Tips¶
- Off: the texture stays in the world, so neighbouring meshes share one seamless pattern (best for static rocks, cliffs, walls). On: each mesh keeps its own pattern while it moves.
- Parallax, Bump Offset and Anti-Tiling are skipped in this mode.
- The mesh still needs one UV channel (tangents, Detail Normal).
- Cost: medium, +103 instructions (1–3 reads per map, only on the sides the surface faces).
